I am working on understanding Stress Corrosion Cracking (crack initiation and propagation) in Ni-Alloys. Therefore, I am using a range of techniques, including FIB, micromechanical testing, TEM and EBSD to characterize individual grain boundaries and I am trying to understand how their mechanical properties relate to their degree of oxidation. I am also interested in learning about the role of carbides in SCC behaviour. Moreover, I am applying Finite Element Methods to verify the experimental data in order to make SCC processes in Ni-alloys more predictable.
