Jing HU

BEng in Materials Science and Engineering (Central South University, China)

2nd Year D.Phil Student

Jing works on hydrogen pickup mechanisms in Zr nuclear fuel cladding alloys. She is especially interested in using TEM analysis to study the structure of the oxides on new low-Sn test alloys that have shown excellent corrosion resistance in autoclave testing (the developmental alloy X2 in particular) in order to generate a better understanding of hydrogen pickup mechanisms into the underlying metal during aqueous corrosion.
